Volunteers needed!

Our volunteers are our most important asset and they do a remarkable job for the animals, the shelter, and our programs. Every day a volunteer improves the lives of the animals here at N.A.B.S. Our volunteers help hundreds of animals a year through fostering, dog walking, or working in our shelter. If you would like to join us to find homes for animals, educate the public, or raise funds please c
omplete an instant online volunteer application below on the bottom of this page or click to go to our Forms page if you prefer to print it off or see some of our other forms. Then contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Gaye Hart at dgh48@aol.com to sign up to become a volunteer! After your form is on file, you can sign up on the N.A.B.S. calendar with Gaye for a Saturday in need of volunteers.

How can I help with a Mobile Adoption?

Volunteering to come to the mobile adoption site is the easiest way to become actively involved in the lives and needs of these wonderful animals. We need people who are interested in working as an adoption counselor, keeping the animals in their best shape possible to find their forever families (i.e. grooming, cage cleaning, walking, etc.), and setting up/breaking down the mobile adoption equipment such as cages, signs, etc. This is a great way for our younger teens to get involved as well.

Volunteer are needed to :
    • Greet visitors
    • Answer basic questions about animals
    • Show animals to potential adopters
    • Care for animals’ needs such as refilling food and water dishes,
walking dogs, loving on them.

Where and When are the Mobile Adoption sites?

Our main mobile adoption site is the Petco on 646 and I45 South in League City, TX. We need volunteers there from 11:30 to 4:00 every Saturday. Volunteers for Petco must be 16 years old or older.

N.A.B.S. also needs volunteers many Saturdays and Sundays at the Petsmart in Alvin by Kroger/Hwy 35 South. Volunteers at Petsmart must be 16 years old or older.

We also have other special events certain Saturdays or Sundays at other places such as Tractor Supply or Walmart. The age for volunteers at these events vary.

Contact Dru Dalton to volunteer at League City Petco @ dru_dalton@yahoo.com.

Contact Gaye Hart to volunteer at Alvin Petsmart @ dgh48@aol.com

Besides Mobile Adoption sites where can I volunteer?

For those who prefer work behind the scenes you are needed to help care for the animals’ daily needs. Working alongside the Team Leaders you can assist with feeding, cleaning, washing dishes, laundry, and of course passing out treats and toys. Email Pam Sanidakos at nabstx2004@aol.com to sign up. Voulnteers are needed during the week and on weekend by appointment.
