About
N.A.B.S.
My name is Pam Sanidakos. I have been involved in the
animal welfare field for almost 15 years. When I began working in
rescue with another group our focus was on the rescue of mixed
breeds primarily rescued out of shelter facilities. During that time
it grieved me to see senior companion animals who were discarded or
relinquished at the end of their faithful lives by family members of
their ailing or deceased owner who were unlikely to be rescued
and/or adopted.
I knew whenever we went in to the shelters to rescue we
had to try and pick young adoptable dogs otherwise we would end up
with dogs that would never leave home without us and our usefulness
in rescue would end. Feeling strongly that something is terribly
wrong with this picture in this disposable world we live in today
from abortions to euthanasia I wanted to form my group to offer
assistance and help in this area. To assist these senior animals as
well as the senior citizen with their companion animal thus giving
them peace of mind while living on fixed incomes and limited
mobility and helping to address their pet's needs with them and
after they are gone is the primary focus of our group as well as the
continued rescue and adoption of homeless pets.
We have set out to provide assistance and special
services so seniors (which we ALL will be one day) can continue to
enjoy their companion animal by our supplying food for their dogs
and cats through our "Waggin' Meals Program", to our Mobile Pet Care
Services which addresses vaccinations to flea protection to
transportation to groomers or vets. We want to be there to assist
the seniors with their pets so their right to their pet is not taken
away from them at this time in their life when this may well be the
only companion they have just because they may not can afford to buy
the food or care for them alone. With our assistance we hope to make
it possible for them to stay together happily everafter. (And yes, I
just loved 'Pollyanna'! LOL!)
If you are in need of accomodations for your pet after
you are gone please give me a call and discuss your situation with
me as part of our future plans are to be a retirement home on the
bayou for our senior companion animals. Anyone wishing to be a part
of the N.A.B.S. TEAM and help us help them please call me at
